Live filming of the show will take place. Guaranteed laughs as Patrick McManus recounts his childhood of poverty, his confrontations with wolves at the door, his inspired descriptions of the not-so-Great Depression’s impacts on everything from cars to maggot farming, from school assignments to dating. Discover how to make, and inventively present, poverty foods like blood sausage, head cheese and turkey gravy and how to live through eating them. Two of Pat’s most popular and powerful stories are contained: The Boy, a tribute to the bonds that bind and unwind men and boys, and Show and Tell, when you just don’t have nothin’ to show and tell about! Oh, and in the meantime, you get to learn how to build a car from spare parts. The evening culminates in a conversation with Old Ed, Pat’s 100-year-old philosopher friend, who puts love, life and today’s economy into perspective … if he can stay awake long enough.
