Aug. 24-26. Friends of Children of Walla Walla is hosting its fifth annual festival. Friday evening, Aug. 24, guests can savor the diverse musical flavors of regional jazz artists at five downtown venues. Saturday’s festivities include two outdoor performances at Waterbrook Winery’s West Highway 12 location. Starting at 6:30 p.m. The Crawford Glenn Band opens for eight-piece Portland ensemble The Shanghai Woolies, with Gavin Bondy, trumpeter for Pink Martini, playing “hot music” 1920s & ‘30s jazz and pop. Saturday tickets include gourmet appetizers, desserts and a glass of Waterbrook wine. On Sunday, Whitehouse-Crawford restaurant is once again hosting a New Orleans-style jazz brunch with two seatings, 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Featuring “Shrimp & Grits” from award-winning chef Jamie Guerin; guests will be entertained by a live processional and performances by The Uptown Lowdown Jazz Quartet from Seattle Ticket to all three events is $120 per person Go to http://www.wallawallafriends.org/ for more information and to purchase tickets
