Spokane Drummers’ Collective
Event Director Ozz Oswalt has created a family-friendly festival that will appeal to all ages, in the hopes of generating excitement, enthusiasm and appreciation for the art of drumming. Spectators will be encouraged to ask questions and pick the brains of these artists. A drum circle in the courtyard welcomes all potential rhythmists. Attendees of the Collective are encouraged to bring their own hand-held percussion instrument and play along. The event will showcase several local-area drummers including organizer Ozz Oswalt of Seven Cycles, “Mega” Mike Cluckey of Benign, Lukas Hilker of Odyssey, drumming brothers Shawn Murphy of Blistered Earth, and Zach Kronich of Invasive; Dan and Eric Wills from Concrete Grip; Jon Wilson of Faded Ink/Characterflaw, Matthew Chavez of Reason for Existence, Robbin’s Rebels, and a special performance and clinic by commercial drum set artist Todd Michael Miller. Additional musical performances and special guests mixed throughout will add an eclectic element to the event.
