A Woman Traveling Solo Around The World

October 10, 2012-October 10, 2012

Monika Metz, independent, energetic, solo traveler, has traveled on the tourist paths and the back roads of over 80 countries. She travels without the aid of travel agencies, often off the beaten tourist paths on the back roads. She has hitchhiked when no other transportation was available. She loves to travel in spite of the challenges. Traveling solo can be a wonderful experience and through it, she and other self-sufficient travelers have gained confidence, courage, practical experience, and an even greater sense of independence. She has much to share with others who want to travel but are afraid they don’t have enough money or a partner. Metz, who has a talent for photographing people, will show slides from her recent trip through Pakistan and share her secret for carrying cash. Presented by EWU Women’s Studies Center.
