Landfill Rules Public Hearing

The Washington Department of Ecology is proposing to amend rules affecting municipal solid waste landfills. The amendments would bring the “Criteria for Solid Waste Landfills” chapter into alignment with federal Environmental Protection Agency requirements. Among the changes being proposed are those regarding landfill liner and cover design, standards and procedures for closing landfills, other landfill practices and procedures. Comment period ends July 6, 2012. You can provide official comments in any of the following ways: 1. Testify or submit written comments at public hearings. 2. Email your comments to: rulecommentsw2r@ecy.wa.gov. 3. Mail comments to: Wayne Krafft, Washington Department of Ecology, Eastern Regional Office, Waste 2 Resources Program, 4601 N.
