Young adult writers take the stage with Doyle McQuerry reading from her latest novel, “The Peculiars.” On her 18th birthday, Lena must rely on her special powers to find her father who vanished into a wilderness populated by the Peculiars. Freelance writer Wallenfels ventures into science fiction with “Pods.” As alien spacecraft zap any human who goes outside, 15-year-old Josh and 12-year-old Megs, living in different cities, describe what could be their last days on earth.
