“Don Quixote - A Grand Finale”

May 5-6. Classics series with The Spokane Symphony. Eckart Preu, conductor; cello by Joshua Roman. Don Quixote, a musical depiction of Miguel de Cervantes’ most revered literary character. The program will be rounded out with excerpts from Manuel de Falla’s Three-Cornered Hat, Suites 1 and 2, and Tchaikovsky’s exquisite Variations on a Rococo Theme. Impressive young cellist Joshua Roman will play the solos in both the Tchaikovsky and Strauss selections. Performances Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. A pre-concert talk about the music will be held in the hall one hour before each performance.
