Lantern set to screen social justice film fest
I'll post more about this later, but right now I want to give notice to an upcoming film festival. It's the three-day Best of the Fest Social Justice Film Festival, which will be held March 1-3 at the Magic Lantern Theatre.
The festival, which is sponsored by a consortium of agencies, comprises 12 films. All were culled from the 2018 “Hope & Democracy” Social Justice Film Festival, which was held in October in Seattle.
Among the topics explored: health-care workers battling the opioid crisis, children adopted from Korea, the Native Americans who protested at Standing Rock against a controversial pipeline.
The festival is free and open to the public.
