Ordering a third round

Rick Bonino

Tickets go on sale today at noon for a new-look Spokane Brewers Festival, Aug. 4 at the Spokane Arena.

In its third year, as well as being trimmed from two days to one, the event is moving inside the air-conditioned comfort of the Arena instead of the parking lot where it was previously held.

General admission tickets are $25 in advance at the Arena box office and through TicketsWest, or $30 at the door. That includes a tasting mug and tokens for 13 two-ounce samples (extra tokens will be $1 each).

Or for $50, a VIP ticket gets you unlimited tokens and access to beers brewed specially for the festival. Ticket sales are limited to 3,000 people; proceeds benefit the Wishing Star Foundation.

Taps will pour from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is limited to ages 21 and older, with free entry for designated drivers.

Last year's event featured 40 breweries and cideries. The lineup for this year has not yet been announced. There also will be food vendors and live music throughout the day.
