Winter wonderland

The Lantern Tap House’s Winter Beer Fest returns for a fifth year this weekend.

Ten seasonal offerings from Oregon breweries will pour in the outdoor tent (with fire pits) on Friday from 4 to 10 p.m., and 10 more from Washington breweries on Saturday from 2 to 10.

The Friday lineup includes:

• Beer Valley 2015 Black Flag imperial stout (11 percent alcohol by volume, 100 International Bitterness Units)

• Boneyard Backbone espresso stout (6, 13)

• Breakside Vienna Coffee Beer (5.2, 18)

• Crux Tough Love bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout (11.5, 70)

• Deschutes 2014 Dissident Flanders-style sour brown aged in wine barrels with cherries (10.7, 30)

• Double Mountain Fa La La La La (7.5, 85)

• Ecliptic Filament Winter IPA (7.2, 70)

• Fort George Magnanimous Winter IPA (7, 70)

• Hopworks Urban Brewery Noggin Floggin Barleywine (11, 100)

• pFriem Belgian Christmas Ale (7.5, 65)

And on Saturday, look for:

• Backwoods Spruce Springsteen winter ale with cinnamon, orange peel and spruce tips (9.5, 20)

• Bale Breaker High Camp Winter Warmer (7.3, 84)

• Black Raven Festivus with cranberries, citrus and spices (7.3, 48)

• Fremont 2015 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Abominable (14, 65)

• Georgetown Bourbon Barrel-Aged Chopper’s red (7, 58)

• Iron Goat 2014 Dry Fly Whiskey Barrel-Aged Goatnik imperial stout (12, 90)

• No-Li 2015 Dry Fly Wheat Whiskey Barrel-Aged Ancho Chili Wrecking Ball imperial stout (9.5, 100)

• Perry Street Black Rye IPA conditioned on ancho chilies (7.1, 80)

• 7 Seas Winter Ale (7.6, 55)

• Waddell's Lost Woods Winter Ale (7.5, 50)

You’ll be able to vote for your favorite each day, with the winners announced at 9 p.m.

Seven other beers are on tap inside The Lantern starting today: Avery 2014 Tweak bourbon barrel-aged stout (17.5, 65), Breakside Apple Amber with spices (5.7, 18), Firestone 2014 Parabola imperial stout (14, 82), Fremont Bonfire brown (6, 40), Lagunitas Brown Shugga (9.9, 51), New Belgium Love Oscar dark sour (7.6) and Trickster’s Soul Warmer Porter (6, 35).   

A $20 presale package (for the first 100 customers) includes a commemorative tasting glass and pom beanie plus five drink tokens. Admission during the festival will be $15 for the glass and tokens.

Depending on the beer, you can get a 4-ounce taster for two or three tokens, and either 10 or 13 ounces for five tokens. Extra tokens are $1 each.

There will be live music inside by Mama Doll and friends Thursday at 7, Fat Lady on Friday at 9:30 and Dodgy Mountain Men on Saturday at 9:30.
