A pint for Paul

Rick Bonino

Seven years ago this spring, Paul Edminster and Greg Brandt met at the old Jones Radiator beer bar and bonded over their mutual interests in motorcycles and homebrewing.

The following June, they opened Iron Goat Brewing and soon built it into one of the top breweries in the area. Then, in one of fate’s cruelest twists, Edminster suddenly died last September from complications of cancer at age 51.

Now Iron Goat is renaming one of his signature recipes – the former Garbage Pale Ale – as Paul’s Pale in his memory.

There’s a launch event today beginning at 5 p.m. back where it all started, at the old Jones location at 120 E. Sprague, recently reborn as Community Pint.

Look for a regular tap of Paul’s Pale along with two flavor-infused Randall versions: blood orange and ginger peach.

A dollar from every pint sold will be donated to the American Cancer Society
