Friday’s openings: 2019 starting off slowly

It's not surprising that the coming week of moviegoing will likely be quiet. Though a number of films have yet to open locally, the national-release schedule has only one film listed for Friday:

"Escape Room": Six people are locked in a room and given the challenge to find a way out. Wow, never heard that plot before.

Among those films that might still open here: "Destroyer," "If Beale Street Could Talk," "Stan & Ollie," "On the Basis of Sex."
