Celebrate National Donut Day on Friday with beer pairings at the Coeur d'Alene Growler Guys.

UPDATES FRIDAY 6/2

– Slate Creek has tapped a new Dark Side of the Moon brewed with star anise (6.1 percent alcohol by volume, 56 International Bitterness Units).

– Rants & Raves is in the house for a tap takeover at Bon Bon starting at 6.

– River City's Randall for the weekend is Afternoon IPA through peaches and nectarines, with $3 pints of all beers tonight for First Friday. 

– It's the last night of business at the Steam Plant before the restaurant and brewpub close temporarily for remodeling.

 

UPDATES THURSDAY 6/1

– Oskar Blues is June's featured brewery of the month at Nectar Wine and Beer in Kendall Yards, with a taplist including Mama's Little Yella Pils, Dale's Pale, Pinner Throwback session IPA, regular IPA, Gubna imperial IPA and Old Chub Scotch ale. Get a flight for $10 tonight from 6 to 8; the first 30 people to order a flight or pint also will get a grilled bratwurst and souvenir glass.   

Perry Street has released the latest in its series of hazy, juicy New England-style IPAs.

– Chewelah's Quartzite Brewing hosts a fundraiser Friday from 5 to 8 for the T.A.S.T.Y summer lunch program for area children, which will receive $1 from each pint sold plus proceeds from a silent auction.   

– Alaskan beers are $4 all month at Waddell's Neighborhood Pub on the South Hill, with the chance to win a paddle board.

– Manito Tap House has a Founders night starting at 5 with Lemondrop IPA, PC Pils and Sumatra Imperial Brown.

TUESDAY

– Double Mountain's Hop Lion IPA and Dry Cider will be featured in the weekly pint night from 4 to 6 at Geno's.

WEDNESDAY

– The #SpoBU Twitter meetup group has its monthly gathering from 4 to 6 at Whistle Punk.

– A community pint night from 5 to 9 at Orlison benefits Camp Journey for children with cancer; look for a guest keg of Young Buck's Punky Pale.  

Mad Bomber celebrates owner Tom Applegate's 30th birthday from 5 to 8 with a rerelease of last year's third anniversary Black Hand bourbon barrel-aged imperial porter plus cake.

THURSDAY

Bellwether releases a Summer Run session braggot (honey beer) collaboration with the Nu Home Brew homebrew shop, made with locally produced Palouse Pint wheat and crystal malts, clover honey, basil, birch bark and lemongrass; get a pint for $4 with a purchase from the Crate food truck from 5 to 8.

– A Double Mountain tap takeover from 5 to 8 at The Filling Station on 5th features the Pilsner, Kerosene Hat Pale, Red Irish, Hop Lion IPA, Tenacious Ten bourbon barrel-aged imperial rye/oatmeal stout and Dry Cider.

FRIDAY

– The Coeur d'Alene Growler Guys will pair five beers with local pastries from Gross Donuts to celebrate National Donut Day starting at 3.

– Bellwether hosts a Share the Love benefit from 5 to 9 for Cup of Cool Water, which works with homeless youths. 

– The Well-Read Moose bookstore in Coeur d'Alene has a free Mad Bomber tasting from 5:30 to 7.

– Downdraft's First Friday Luau Party starting at 6 will include small-batch beers, a costume contest, food truck and live music.

Rocket Market hosts a tasting of 10 summer-themed beers, from pilsners to sours to reds, from 7 to 9:30. Cost is $25, which includes snacks; call (509) 343-2253 for reservations.

SATURDAY

– Hopped Up's annual car show starts at 1 with food from the One Night Stand Craft Barbecue and Mustard's Last Stand hot dog trucks.

– A craft beer festival at Fairchild Air Force Base runs from 3 to 6 with offerings by the likes of Bellwether, Bennidito's, English Setter, Iron Goat, No-Li, Orlison, Paradise Creek, River City, Steam Plant, Twelve String and Waddell's, plus ciders from One Tree and Twilight. Admission is $10, which includes a commemorative mug and four 6-ounce samples.

– Breweries including Elysian, Georgetown, Iron Goat, No-Li, River City and Waddell's will be featured at 10 downtown bars in the Spokane ComiCrawl pub crawl starting at 4 p.m. as part of the Lilac City Comicon comic book convention. Tickets are $12, which includes drink specials and games at each location (all of which will have comics-related themes) plus the chance to win prizes including trips to other regional comicons.
