Crave-ing a beer

Rick Bonino

The beer portion of the planning is firming up for June’s inaugural Crave NW food and drink celebration in Spokane Valley.

No-Li is creating a special version of its golden ale for the event, which will include a limited 60-case release of 22-ounce bottles to stores this month (with label artwork again by local artist Chris Bovey). The brewery previously bottled golden ales for events ranging from the Spokane Symphony’s “Beethoven & Brews” in March to the 2015 Pioneer League baseball all-star game hosted by the Spokane Indians.

Other local and regional craft breweries in the lineup include Bellwether, River City, Twelve String, Pullman’s Paradise Creek, southern Idaho’s Grand Teton and Seattle’s gluten-free Ghostfish.

There also will be offerings from several of the breweries that have been purchased by Anheuser-Busch InBev around the country, including Elysian (Seattle), 10 Barrel (Bend), Goose Island (Chicago), Golden Road (Los Angeles) and Blue Point (Long Island, New York) along with Belgium’s Stella Artois.

Crave NW will run June 15-18 in the CenterPlace event facility at Mirabeau Park and feature appearances by acclaimed chefs from throughout the Northwest and beyond. There will be grand tastings of the food and beverage offerings on Friday and Saturday afternoons (tickets are $35 through June 1, $40 afterward) along with several special events; full ticket information is available here.
