Friday’s openings: Laughs, thrills from the past

So what can we expect from this Friday's movie openings: How about more of the same? Maybe good, maybe bad, but definitely familiar.

The scheduled national openings are as follows:

"Life": A crew on a space station is the first to encounter alien life. Turns out it's hungry. See: "It! The Terror from Beyond Space."

"Power Rangers": A posse of Americans teens suddenly find themselves possessing super powers, which they use to fight an evil power. See "Super Sentai Zyuranger" (which was later adapted for American audiences as "The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers").

"CHIPS": A couple of California Highway Patrol officers bumble their way around Los Angeles. See "CHIPs."

There might be more. There usually is. I'll post when the information becomes final.
