The week’s openings: Arachnophobe alert

Dan Webster

Now that "Baby Driver" has surprised even its own studio with how well it's performing, both at the box office and among critics as well as civilian moviegoers, the summer's next big potential blockbuster is about to open.

Hint: its protagonists slings webs.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming": As a kind of sequel to "Captain America: Civil War," Marvel offers up another reboot, the third version of "Spider-Man" since 2002 (the others starring, respectively, Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield). This one stars Tom Holland as the web-slinger trying to reconcile his superhero duties with his high school studies. And then the villain Vulture shows up.

As usual, the week may offer a few surprise openings. I'll update as needed.
