Post Falls Brewing, Crafted Tap House and the Coeur d'Alene Growler Guys are taking $1 off pints in honor of National Beer Day, which celebrates the beginning of the end of Prohibition in 1933; also get $1 off pints and $2 off fills at Steady Flow Growler House, $4 pints at V Twin, $5 sours at The Filling Station on 5th, $5 grunts at New Boundary and more specials at Laughing Dog

Orlison is offering $4 pints for First Friday.

 

UPDATES WEDNESDAY 4/5

Selkirk Abbey is seeking customer comments on a pair of test pale ales it's pouring as part of its Northern Cross non-Belgian line.

– Chewelah's Quartzite has tapped a Gold Hill Gose

– Snowplough Imperial Chocolate Stout is beer of the week at Orlison, with $3 pints in the downtown taproom.

– Get $4 Deschutes pints all month at Waddell's Neighborhood Pub & Grille.

– Nectar Wine and Beer in Kendall Yards will serve $4 Ninkasi pints at the after-party for the Negative Split half-marathon on Sunday, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Spokane HOPE School.

 

A look at the upcoming week in local craft beer:

MONDAY

– The final week of March IPA Madness at Manito Tap House features blind tasters of the previous four weekly winners: Georgetown Bodhizafa, Bale Breaker Topcutter, Perry Street IPA and Schooner Exact Hopvine. The top customer vote-getter receives a permanent tap handle for the coming year.

TUESDAY

– Four-Eyed Guys releases its Munich lager at the Valley Hop Jacks starting at 5, with $3 pints and hat raffles. 

Manito Tap House hosts a release party for Founders' acclaimed annual barrel-aged KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) starting at 6, with All Day session IPA and Dirty Bastard Scotch ale also pouring.

WEDNESDAY

Pilgrim's presents a free Paradise Creek tasting starting at 3:30 including Huckleberry Pucker, Kugar Kolsch, Over the Hop IPA and Postal Porter.

THURSDAY

– Bellwether concludes its seven-week small-batch Purple Egyptian Barley series from 5 to 9 with a chili pale ale and another brewed with pear and bay leaf, both using the locally grown and malted grain; those who have attended at least six of the tastings can vote on their favorite, which will be brewed as a full batch for Spokane Craft Beer Week in May.

Nectar Wine and Beer in Kendall Yards has a kickoff event from 6 to 8 for its April brewery of the month, Ninkasi; for $10 get a flight of Helles Belles lager, Pacific Rain pale and four IPAs: Total Domination, Hop Cooler citrus, Megalodon double and Dawn of the Red.

FRIDAY

– Nectar Wine and Beer in Kendall Yards has a launch party from 6 to 8 for Ecliptic's new canned beers, Quasar pale and Starburst IPA.

Twelve String will be featured in a tap takeover from 6 to 8 at Bon Bon in the Garland Theater.

– Downdraft's monthly First Friday party from 7 to 10 features two small-batch releases – a passion fruit IPA and a hazelnut brown – plus live music and a Beer Bunny egg hunt.

– The Steam Plant releases a pair of new beers for First Friday: Boiler 5 IPA and the annual spring seasonal 1889 imperial IPA.
