Catching up with more news from the past week in local craft beer:

 –Time is running out to make reservations for a pair of beer dinners at the beginning of next week.

On Monday at 6, Casper Fry presents a five-course No-Li dinner featuring fried pig ear salad accompanied by Big Juicy IPA; blackened catfish with Pumpkin Pie PA; coffee-pressed duck breast with Rise & Grind coffee milk stout; smoked boudin Scotch egg with Spin Cycle Red, and pistachio cream pie with Red White & No-Li pale. Cost is $65; call (509) 535-0536.

And on Tuesday at 6, Prohibition Gastropub hosts a five-course dinner paired with River City and Ninkasi beers. The menu includes green pea and watercress soup, an arugula salad, duck confit ravioli with pumpkin cream sauce, roasted lamb and a deconstructed lemon tart. Cost is $65; call (509) 474-9040.

– Growler stations are up and running at the Fred Meyer stores in the Spokane Valley and at Wandermere, each featuring 10 taps pouring local and regional beers and ciders. However, there are no plans for growler fills at the South Thor store, as previously announced.

The Cork & Tap wine and beer bar at the Valley store is scheduled for a grand opening Oct. 26.

– Orlison is launching a series of Beers with Blaine events the third Thursday of each month, featuring head brewer Blaine Serrin. First up next Thursday at 5 is a Beer 101 session covering the basic brewing process.

– The new Victory Sports Hall next to Crafted in Coeur d'Alene is offering $2.50 local beer pints on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Featured this weekend is Paradise Creek's Lupular Fallout black IPA.
