No-Li has won two more medals in international competitions, bringing its total to 20 over the past five years.

The brewery’s Spin Cycle Red took a silver medal at the European Beer Star awards, announced today in Nuremberg, Germany.

And over the weekend, the new Red, White & No-Li pale snagged silver at the Great International Beer & Cider Competition in Providence, Rhode Island.

The 13th annual Beer Star, Europe’s largest competition, attracted a record 2,103 entries from 44 countries in 57 traditional style categories. Spin Cycle’s predecessor, Crystal Bitter, earned bronze there in 2012.

For the first time, U.S. breweries had the most gold medals of any country with 17. Ballast Point led the way with three golds and a silver.

In the Northwest, Deschutes won gold for Obsidian Stout and bronze for Mirror Pond pale; Reuben’s Brews, gold for Crikey IPA and bronze for Robust Porter; Pelican, bronze for Beak Breaker imperial IPA and Wee Heavy; pFriem, bronze for its Pilsner; and Worthy, bronze for Lights Out Stout.

The 20th annual Great International Beer & Cider Competition had 814 entries in 58 categories. No-Li previously won three medals there in 2014: gold for Wrecking Ball imperial stout and Aksel Belgian strong ale, and silver for its Creme Ale.

Other Northwest brewery winners this year included Full Sail, gold for Session Wheat, Session Premium Lager, Amber Ale and Shortest Day CDA; Widmer, silver for Hefeweizen and PDX Pils and bronze for Steel Bridge Porter; Rogue, gold for Hazelnut Brown Nectar and silver for Dead Guy; and Pike, silver for Kilt Lifter Scotch Ale and Monk’s Uncle Belgian Tripel.

No-Li also has won awards in competitions ranging from Belgium to Australia to Japan. Entries are coordinated through the Denver-based Brewers Association trade group.
