Party in the Panhandle

Rick Bonino

The Coeur d’Alene area is party central for craft beer fans on Saturday, with three back-to-back events:

– Things kick off with Daft Badger’s daylong Summer Party starting at 11 a.m. Beer attractions include the return of Scotch Scotchy Scotch ale and the debut of Badgers Bounty IPA in 22-ounce bottles, joining Summer’s Envy IPA and Josiah’s Revenge imperial stout in the bomber lineup; also, 20 cases of Summer’s Envy will be sold at half price ($3/bottle, $30/case) while they last.

There also will be raffles on the hour for growlers, grunts and other merchandise, pulled pork sandwiches for $5 and live music by Nu Jack City and the Les Moore Duo. Ride your bike to the party and get your first pint for free.

– Bike riders also will want to head up to the Hayden Capone’s at 1 p.m. for the start of the fourth Hayden Bicycle Pub Crawl. After a half-hour there, the group will depart for similar stops at The Porch Public House and Daanen’s Delicatessen before finishing up at 4 at Mad Bomber. For more information, call Chris at (208) 755-4356.

– Those bikers will reach Mad Bomber just in time for the 10th anniversary party of the IDHOPS homebrew club from 4 to 8. Club members recently brewed a batch of Oktoberfest-style OctoAle on the Bomber’s seven-barrel system; a portion of each pint sold will benefit Newby-ginnings of North Idaho, which provides assistance to military veterans and their families.
