Catching up with more news from the past week in local craft beer:

– Pilgrim’s Market in Coeur d’Alene debuted a revamped growler station that offers the option of counter-pressure fills to preserve freshness.

The Pegas CrafTap system purges growlers of oxygen and fills them under pressure to prevent more air from creeping in, which means the beer won’t go stale as fast if it’s stored for a while before drinking.

Pilgrim’s eight draft offerings also can be poured from regular taps to accommodate wide-mouthed growlers that don’t fit in the CrafTap, and to serve samples. Selections are listed on a large video screen that’s connected to the TapHunter network online.

– Iron Goat has released a new large-batch Mosaic IPA (5.2 percent alcohol by volume, 72 International Bitterness Units).

– New Boundary is pouring an Orange Creamsicle Blond (6, 12) brewed with orange peel and zest plus milk sugar to mimic the classic frozen treat, and also has received federal label approval to begin bottling its Lemon Kick hard lemonade.

– Enoteca is offering $1 off pint pours all weekend in celebration of Post Falls Days.

– The Steam Plant has introduced a summer menu with several dishes incorporating the house beers and spent grains from the brewing process, which are now used in all hamburger and other sandwich buns.

– The Full Sail brewer’s dinner previously scheduled for July 17 at Hills’ Restaurant and Lounge has been postponed, but another tasty-sounding option has surfaced: Prohibition Gastropub on North Monroe is serving a five-course Dinner Under the Stars on July 30 accompanied by beers from nearby Bellwether as well as Seattle’s Elysian. Check out the menu here; tickets are $65, by calling (509) 474-9040.
