Friday’s openings: The humor … and the horror

Dan Webster

The week's mainstream movies have been announced, and the list contains the usual suspects: action, animation, horror and humor. Friday's openings are as follows:

"London Has Fallen": Terrorist attempt to kidnap the U.S. president and only Gerard Butler stands in their way. Is this Sparta?

"The Other Side of the Door": A family loses a child then contacts dark spirits to do the unthinkable (though not the unfamiliar).

"Whiskey Tango Foxtrot": Tina Fey plays one-time Spokesman-Review reporter Kim Barker in this adaptation of her memoir as a journalist covering Afghanistan. As the title suggests …

"Zootopia": Walking/talking animals attempt to figure out why some of their number are turning savage. Maybe … hunger?
