UPDATES FRIDAY 2/12

– Daft Badger is serving a special Salted Caramel Milk Stout on Saturday and Sunday for Valentine's Day; ask for a free 3-ounce pour, served with a chocolate-covered raspberry on the rim. 

– Mad Bomber is featured in an 11-tap takeover – including its big, barrel-aged Black Hand anniversary beer – all weekend at Rivelle's in Coeur d'Alene.

– This weekend's Randall at River City is Girlfriend Golden through cinnamon and peach tea.

– The Friday Randall at English Setter is Fetching Blonde over orange candy.

 

UPDATES WEDNESDAY 2/10

– Today's weekly small-batch release at Daft Badger is a light, refreshing American pale ale (5.1 percent alcohol by volume, 38 International Bitterness Units) hopped with Cascade and Chinook.

– New Boundary's Wednesday small-batch release is a traditional Belgian wit (6.5, 15) with orange peel and coriander, alongside a new Lemon Kick malt-based hard lemonade.

– Bellwether has tapped its first full-batch gruit – a brown Ancestry Ale with mugwort, coriander, rose hips and grains of paradise – along with two new small-batch releases: a dark wheat Coffee Dunkel and bottle-conditioned spiced dark Belgian ale.    

 

A look at the upcoming week in local craft beer:

TUESDAY

– Don't Fret Porter is the beer of the week at Twelve String, with $1 off pints and growler fills.

FRIDAY

– Paradise Creek is the guest brewery for this week's brewer's lunch Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Central Food, with tap offerings and beer-themed food specials (no tickets or reservations necessary).

– A "Sweethearts Night" at The Filling Station on Fifth will feature six Deschutes beers – The Abyss, Black Butte XXVII imperial porter, The Stoic quad, The Dissident sour brown, Hop Henge experimental IPA and herbed EHOP amber – paired with food courses from the adjoining Collective Kitchen restaurant (and Abyss chocolate-covered strawberries), along with live music. 

SATURDAY

– Two Knights Homebrew in Post Falls hosts a beginner's brewing class from 1 to 4 p.m., with discounts on equipment and recipe kits.  

– Perry Street's pre-Valentine's party includes speed dating from 6 to 7 p.m. with $3 pints for participants (all spots currently filled, waiting list available), Cards Against Humanity at 8 and a combo special of four Coconut Chocolate Porter-dipped strawberries and two pints for $10.

– English Setter is running a Valentine's weekend special Saturday and Sunday with a taster flight, two pints, two souvenir logo glasses and an order of pretzels with beer cheese for $25.

– WestCoast Entertainment's first Brews & Broadway event, with River City Brewing, offers two-orchestra level tickets to "The Illusionists" at 8:30 p.m., a private party with the brewer and four drink tickets for $125.

– And sorry, procrastinators: This year's Palouse Cabin Fever Brew Fest again sold out in advance.
