UPDATE FRIDAY 10/30

– Five Steam Plant beers – Huckleberry, Jalapeno, "C" Hops Victory Ale, Double Stack Stout and the Midnight Harvest Cascadian dark ale collaboration with Big Barn – will be featured today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Steady Flow Growler House in Spokane Valley, with the brewers on hand to talk shop. 

 

UPDATE TUESDAY 10/28

– This week's Wednesday small-batch releases are an IPA with Amarillo, Citra and Simcoe hops (7 percent alcohol by volume, 74 International Bitterness Units) at Iron Goat, and a Fresh Hop Red (6.4 percent alcohol by volume, 75 International Bitterness Units) brewed with homegrown Centennial and Cascade at Daft Badger in Coeur d'Alene.

– Black Label has a launch party Friday at 5 for its Lands Council Pale Ale (5.1, 43), a benefit collaboration with the environmental group that uses organic malt and Tomahawk hops. 

– River City's seasonal Midnight Marmot imperial stout (8.7, 78) will be released at the downtown taproom on Friday.

 

A look ahead at the upcoming week in local craft beer:

– A pumpkin pie-spiced version of Rise & Grind coffee stout will be on tap for No-Li’s second weekly Brewsday Tuesday event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

– Pilgrim’s in Coeur d’Alene offers a tasting of Ninkasi beers on Wednesday at 3:30, including the winter seasonal Sleigh'r dark double alt, Noir milk stout with cold-brewed coffee and Dawn of the Red India red ale.

– Orlison will be featured in a pint night Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Brooklyn Deli in downtown Spokane.

– Six fall seasonals – Victory Festbier, New Belgium Pumpkick, pFriem Pumpkin Bier, Two Beers Fresh Hop IPA, Double Mountain Killer Red Fresh Hop IRA and Sockeye Double Dagger Fresh Hop Double IPA – will pour in a tasting Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nectar Wine and Beer in Kendall Yards. Cost is $10 for the flight.

– Trickster’s releases a Cascadian dark ale version of its Hipster Juice session IPA, dubbed Dark Side of the Hipster, on Friday with $3 pints all day.

And, of course, several breweries and growler houses will host Halloween events on Friday and Saturday, including Daft Badger, Downdraft, Laughing Dog and The Filling Station on 5th. Look for a full report here later in the week, along with more information on all the local happenings.
