– Today's weekly special releases are an oak-aged Flanders red (5.6, 17) at Iron Goat, a big small-batch Izzy No Cry pale ale (6.7) hopped with Cascade and Perle at Daft Badger, and the return of Fly'n Kilt Scotch ale (7.2) at Slate Creek.  

 

A look ahead at the upcoming week in local craft beer:

– River City starts taking registrations for its new Growler Club when it opens today at 3. For an annual $100 fee, you get a custom stainless steel HydroFlask growler and discount fill prices of $10 for core beers and $12 for limited releases (plus a $3 pint while you wait) starting in January, along with a logo work shirt; membership is limited to the first 100 customers.

– Twelve String will tap its bourbon barrel-aged Double Drop D Stout for tonight’s football potluck.

– Orlison’s monthly Community Pint Night on Tuesday will benefit Friends of the Centennial Trail, with $1 from every pint sold between 5 and 9 p.m. going to the organization.

– No-Li launches its Brewsday Tuesday series from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with special beers each week, exclusive merchandize and prize drawings. Participants can sign up for advance notification on other releases and events.

– The revived Inland Northwest Girls Pint Out has its first brewery tour and tasting Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Black Label; get a flight and a pint for $10.

– Trickster’s will pour a pair of fresh hop ales – the new Limelight, made with Mosaic and Equinox, and the Simcoe-forward Hop Box – on Thursday from 5 to 8 (during the Seahawks-49ers game) at Capone’s in Post Falls, with raffles for a growler, grunt and gift card.

– Pints hosts a Twelve String barrel night Thursday at 6, featuring four beers aged in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels – Volume 3 Imperial Red IPA, Belgian Strong Dark, Drop D Stout and Double Drop D Imperial Stout – plus an imperial pumpkin porter in Jamaican rum barrels and a cognac barrel-aged sour pale with orange and agave.

– The Treasure Chest Night breast cancer research benefit Thursday from 6 to 9 at The Lantern Tap House will feature beers from San Diego's Green Flash including East Village Pilsner, Soul Style IPA, Le Freak Belgian-style imperial IPA and this year's Treasure Chest, an exotic pink IPA brewed with grapefruit, prickly pear juice, hibiscus flowers and Mosaic hops (on draft and in 22-ounce bottles).

– A Hop Valley pint night Thursday at 6 at The Filling Station on 5th in Coeur d'Alene will include $4 pints and $10 fills of the Citra Self Down fresh hop pale and Alpha Centauri and Citrus Mistress IPAs, with a brewery rep on hand,

– Republic Brewing’s annual Oktoberfest runs Friday and Saturday with German-style beers, food and music along with giveaways, games and prizes for those who come in costume.  

– The third annual Craft Beer and Cookie Fest, Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Girl Scout Program Center, pairs Girl Scout cookies with beers from Black Label, English Setter, Iron Goat, New Boundary, River City, Waddell’s, Alaskan and Lagunitas. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
