SCBW: Day 6

Rick Bonino

The last full day of Craft Beer Week events is a full one indeed, with something to satisfy practically everybody:

– The headliner is No-Li’s No Boundaries on the River 3.0 small-batch festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring a dozen barrel-aged and other specialty offerings. Tickets sold out in advance, so if you haven’t got yours, we won’t tease you with the details. But even if you don’t make it, one of the star attractions – Defacto, a blend of whiskey barrel-aged Jet Star imperial IPA and Wrecking Ball imperial stout – will roll out to specialty stores next week in 22-ounce bottles.

– If you don’t get to the No-Li fest – or you do, and you’re still thirsty – just a block to the north, Ramblin’ Road is pulling out a few of its own barrel-aged Belgian-inspired beers starting at 2 p.m., including Vagabond, a farmhouse sour aged in cabernet franc barrels with Rainier cherries, and Mosey On, a strong, sour golden ale aged in cabernet and merlot barrels with apricots.

– Twelve String is taking a page from the winery book and doing tastings of four of its in-progress projects straight out of the barrel from noon to 6 p.m. Look for such treats as an imperial coconut porter aged in rum barrels.

– In Post Falls, Selkirk Abbey, which yesterday tapped a wine barrel-aged version of its Guilt imperial Belgian-style porter, today adds one of the few remaining kegs of last year’s 10˚ quad.

– English Setter is running IPA specials along with live music from 6 to 8 p.m.

– Hopped Up is finishing up specialty taps including a Carolina Reaper chili beer, sweet-tart sour blackberry stout, double-hopped Mad Hopper IPA and rotating Quality Cream ales infused with raspberry, cantaloupe and lemon.

– Black Label is serving another flavor-infused beer through its Randall, the Spring Session IPA over whole-leaf Centennial hops.

– Mad Bomber in Hayden is hosting a benefit for the family of late Coeur d’Alene Police Sgt. Greg Moore from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a silent auction and food from Blue Smoke BBQ.

– Amateurs get into the act at the second annual Battle of the Homebrews from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center, with the winning recipes to be brewed commercially by Waddell’s and Downdraft.

– Total Wine tastings feature Sockeye and Deschutes from noon to 3 p.m. and Wallace Brewing from 3 to 6 in the Valley, and 10 Barrel and Sam Adams from noon to 3 at the North Spokane store.

– And if you’re feeling a bit tight after getting tight all week, the first weekly Beer Flow Yoga class at Perry Street Brewing starts at 10:45 a.m., followed by a pint, of course.
