Four-fer Thursday (plus one)

Rick Bonino

A look ahead at some imbibing options this Thirsty Thursday:

- Orlison kicks off the monthly featured brewery tastings at the new Nectar Wine and Beer in Kendall Yards.

Each month, six of Nectar’s 16 taps will be devoted to a different regional brewer, with those beers poured in a tasting session with brewery reps the first Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Along with the standard Clem’s Gold and India Pale Lager, the Orlison lineup includes three limited seasonal releases – Roast House coffee stout, Hops’In dry-hopped pilsner and the new Shut Up & Rye’d rye IPL – plus the lager brewery’s first ale, a session IPA.

Cost is $10 for a tasting flight plus cheese samples.

- New Belgium lands at The Flying Goat for a tap takeover from 5 to 8 p.m.

Look for three releases from the limited Lips of Faith series – Cocoa Mole chocolate chili porter, La Folie sour brown and Le Terroir dry-hopped sour – plus the Abbey dubbel and latest Hop Kitchen offering, an Oatmeal IPA.

- Enoteca in Post Falls is hosting a Firestone Walker pint night starting at 5 p.m. with a pair of barrel-aged rarities – the final, 2014 release of Double DBA imperial special bitter, and 2012’s Sixteen anniversary strong ale blend – along with the regular Union Jack IPA, Double Jack imperial IPA and Easy Jack session IPA.

- An old favorite, the unfiltered Wheat Whale Ale, returns to MickDuff’s in Sandpoint for the first time in two years as this month’s first Thursday release at the Beer Hall at 5:30 p.m.

And if you want to get a head start, Black Label is launching a planned weekly series of Wednesday firkin tappings today at 4 p.m.

First up is a naturally carbonated cask of Honey Blonde, with merchandise prizes for the person who kills the keg.
