Here’s a look at how the local week in beer is shaping up heading into the holiday weekend:

– Tickets went on sale today for No-Li's The 'KAN JamBEERee on Aug. 22, featuring beers from eight regional breweries, food trucks, live music and more.

– The Blackbird, the new north-of-downtown venture by Manito Tap House owner Patrick McPherson, officially opens Tuesday following a soft launch last week.

– Cheney's new New Boundary on Tuesday releases its Horizon IPA (6 percent alcohol by volume, 83 International Bitterness Units), hopped with Centennial, Cascade and Amarillo.

– Iron Goat is the featured brewery for July starting Wednesday at Nectar Wine and Beer in Kendall Yards, though the usual first Thursday tasting has been put off until next week because of the Fourth.

– Pilgrim's in Coeur d'Alene will have a tasting with San Francisco's Almanac Brewing on Wednesday at 3:30, featuring the Golden Gate Gose, Saison Dolores and IPA.

– River City will sponsor a special trivia night Wednesday at the Boiler Room starting at 8:30, then stop by the north side Total Wine on Thursday with samples and growler specials from 4 to 7.

– MickDuff’s in Sandpoint rolls out an old favorite, the Amarillo single-hop Shillelagh IPA, for its First Thursday release at the Beer Hall from 5:30 on, with other special beers and live music.

– And in a rather, um, electic pairing event, the Rocket Market will match various flavors of Fuller Foods Seriously Cheesy Puffs out of Portland – maple bacon, blue cheese jalapeno and sriracha/cheddar – with a selection of local beers on Friday at 7 ($20, reservations requested).

As usual, keep an eye out here for more on everything that’s happening throughout the week.
