Have a beer, or ten

Rick Bonino

Guess they call it Thirsty Thursday for a reason. There’s plenty on the calendar to satisfy craft beer fans from Pullman to Post Falls, Coeur d’Alene to North Spokane:

- The Oskar Blues “Fidy Fest” at Pints Alehouse features the 2012, 2013 and 2014 vintages of Ten FIDY imperial stout (10.5 percent alcohol by volume, 98 International Bitterness Units), plus a version aged in Wild Turkey bourbon barrels.

Also pouring will be three of the Colorado brewery’s IPAs – the sessionable Pinner Throwback (4.9, 35), wheated IceyPA (7, 70) and Deviant Dale’s double (8, 85) – as well as Old Chub Scotch ale (8, 30).  A brewery rep will be on hand with swag starting at 6 p.m.

- Enoteca in Post Falls hosts a 10 Barrel night beginning at 5 p.m with $10 flights of three IPAs from the Bend brewery – OG wheat (6.5, 70), Big Easy black (5.1, 65) and the flagship Apocalypse (6.8, 70) – plus a pair of tart Berliner Weissbiers: the veggie-infused Cucumber Crush (4, 40) and a Cider Weiss (5.7, 4) made with Pink Lady and Granny Smith apples.

The first 24 people to order 10 Barrel pints get a free glass, with more giveways as part of Trivia Night starting at 7 and $5 off growler fills.

- The Cork & Tap in Coeur d’Alene’s Riverstone development is hosting Post Falls’ Downdraft Brewing from 5 to 7 p.m. in the first of what’s planned to be a regular series of beer tastings.

All four taps will be devoted to Downdraft beers, including Anonymous Amber, Exit 5 Brown and the Seltice SMaSH and Third Channel IPAs. Along with samples, you can order pints, or fill growlers or party pigs.

- In Pullman, the Cider House is offering an array of Orlison’s lagers, with an opportunity to meet the brewers from 6 to 9 p.m. and win prizes – including a box for 10 people at a Spokane Indians game (stocked with Orlison beer) and the honor of throwing out the first pitch.
