UPDATE WEDNESDAY 12/23

– Today's next-to-last Year of the Goat weekly small-batch special at Iron Goat is a German-style Kottbusser brewed with oats, honey and molasses.

– Hills' Restaurant and Lounge is pouring the 2013, 2014 and 2015 vintages of Deschutes' The Abyss barrel-aged imperial stout, with 3 ounces of each for $4 or 6 ounces for $8. There's only a sixth-barrel of the 2013 and quarter-barrels of the others, so don't dally.

UPDATES TUESDAY 12/22

– Bellwether has released a small-batch, non-hopped Holly Jolly holiday gruit spiced with orange peel, anise, allspice, vanilla bean, coriander and mugwort (8.4 percent alcohol by volume).

– A Kahlua Porter will be the weekly small-batch pour Wednesday at Daft Badger.

– MickDuff's annual Imperial Bourbon Stout went on tap today at both Sandpoint locations.

A look ahead at the abbreviated holiday week in local craft beer:

– Firestone Walker is the featured guest for tonight's Monday Night Football party at Capone's in Coeur d'Alene, with the tapping of the limited-release XIX Anniversary Ale blend (13.8 percent alcohol by volume) and a raffle for a logo backpack full of brewery swag.

– A special version of the ginger-lime Copper Donkey winter seasonal infused with rosemary and cranberries will pour at No-Li's weekly Brewsday Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

– Selkirk Abbey will release 22-ounce bottles of its new barrel-aged blend, Cuvée de la Nuit Profonde, in the Post Falls taproom on Wednesday.

– Orlison gets in on the ugly holiday sweater action with a party at the downtown taproom Wednesday starting at 5 p.m., with $1 off pints for participants and a prize pack for the best, er, worst apparel.

– A Redhook night at Waddell's Neighborhood Pub & Grille on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. will feature $4 pints of beers from the Seattle brewery and partners Widmer and Kona, plus swag giveaways and drawings for winter gear including a Redhook snowboard.

– Bellwether will host a family caroling party Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30, with live music, complimentary treats and cocoa and a reading of the Christmas story.

Check back tomorrow for a full report on local brewery holiday closures and specials.
