Knit wits

If you’re into good seasonal beer and bad seasonal garb, this weekend is for you, with at least three area craft beer businesses hosting ugly sweater events:

– North Idaho Mountain Brewing kicks things off Friday in Wallace with the fourth annual party at its City Limits Pub & Grill starting at 7 p.m. Look for beer pong and live music by Hymn & Her (Casey Ryan), with prizes for Best Couple, Best Homemade and Overall Ugliest.

– The unfashionable fun continues Saturday at 7 p.m. at The Filling Station on 5th in Coeur d’Alene. Competitive categories include Originality, Christmas Spirit and Fugliness, with an opportunity to earn extra points by answering trivia questions.  First prize is a $50 gift card, second prize is a filled growler and third place is good for a pint to go.

– Also on Saturday, Cheney’s New Boundary Brewing will conduct the photo judging for its contest; you have through tomorrow to stop by for a pint in your tacky threads and have your picture taken for the Jingle Wall. The winner gets a growler and two pint glasses bearing the brewery logo.

And for those still sweating, er, standing, Orlison brings the ugly to downtown Spokane on Wednesday at 5 p.m., with $1 off pints for the atrociously attired and a prize pack for the top offender.
