UPDATES THURSDAY 12/17

– The North Spokane Growler Guys will pour New Belgium's Accumulation IPA, Rampant Imperial IPA, Blackberry Barley Wine and Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Ale in a tasting Friday from 5 to 8, and hold a Hoppy Holiday Party on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with specialty beers, Crowler, pizza and gift pack discounts and WSU and EWU basketball ticket raffles. 

– The Coeur d'Alene Growler Guys is hosting tastings with No-Li (Jet Star Imperial IPA, Rise & Grind coffee stout) on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., and Selkirk Abbey (8˚ dubbel, Guilt Belgian porter, St. Augustine rye saison) and Twelve String (Crescendo Red, Electric Slide imperial IPA, Twelve Strings of Winter) on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.

UPDATES TUESDAY 12/15

– Peppermint Mocha Rise & Grind is the specialty pour for tonight's Brewsday Tuesday at No-Li from 5:30 to 7:30, with a growler thrown in for $15.

– Bellwether's small-batch specialties for the week are a smoked Irish red and a holiday Comfort and Joy gruit with rosehips, coriander, allspice, grains of paradise and mugwort.  

– The weekly Wednesday small-batch offering at Daft Badger will be a big (8 percent ABV) Black IPA hopped with Simcoe and Citra.

– Four beers from Eastern Oregon's Beer Valley – Owyhee Amber, Rosebud IPA, Leafer Madness Imperial Pale and Black Flag Imperial Stout – will be featured in a free tasting Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Pilgrim's in Coeur d'Alene.

– A firkin of Fly'n Kilt Scotch ale conditioned on bourbon and oak is the star attraction for Wednesday's Slate@8 at Slate Creek, with the tapping at 5 p.m. followed by pizza by the slice at 7 and live music (plus $3 pints) at 8.  

– Sing along to traditional holiday tunes at Moscow Brewing's Christmas Sing-Song on Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m.

 

A look at the upcoming week in local craft beer:

– Orlison's monthly Community Pint Night on Tuesday benefits Toys for Tots, with $1 from every pint sold between 5 and 9 p.m. going to the holiday charity.

– Trickster's Juice Box IPA, Dark Side of the Hipster and Soul Warmer Porter will pour at 5 p.m. Wednesday for an event at Sandpoint's Hound Downtown pizza. 

– Bellwether hosts its first Trivia Night on Wednesday starting at 7.

– No-Li beers will be featured in a tasting Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Steady Flow Growler House.

– North Idaho Mountain Brewing's City Limits Pub has an ugly sweater party on Friday starting at 6, with beer pong and live music.

– Ten variations on River City's winter seasonal Midnight Marmot imperial stout will be tapped for the brewery's inaugural International Marmot Beer Festival on Saturday starting at noon; for $25/advance, $30/door you get 2-ounce samples of each, a 12-ounce pour of your favorite, a souvenir glass (for the first 125 customers) and a $10 growler fill (one per person).

– Coeur d'Alene's Filling Station on 5th hosts its ugly sweater contest Saturday at 7 p.m., with prizes for originality, Christmas spirit and "fugliness."

– The ugly sweater judging at New Boundary in Cheney is Saturday; enter by stopping in for a pint between now and then to have your photo taken in your atrocious attire.
