Making a list …

Rick Bonino

It’s a busier-than-usual craft beer week around here, so let’s get right to it:

– Enoteca welcomes San Diego's Ballast Point tonight from 6 to 8 with flights featuring the regular, grapefruit and habanero Sculpin IPA along with Victory at Sea Imperial Porter and Indra Kunindra Curry Export Stout. There’s also $5 off growler fills of grapefruit Sculpin.

And on Friday from 5 to 8, the Post Falls drinkery will present an Old World vs. New World Belgium Beer Smackdown. The classroom-style tasting event includes 11 beers from actual Belgian breweries and from Colorado’s New Belgium; cost is $25, which includes two souvenir beer glasses.

– The sixth-anniversary celebration wraps up at The Lantern Tap House this week with a pair of events.

On Wednesday, it’s a tap takeover by the Oregon Coast’s highly regarded Pelican Brewing, with swag and prizes. That’s followed Friday by the tapping of a special grapefruit IPA from Iron Goat; if you caught that one recently as part of the brewery’s Year of the Goat small-batch series, you know it’s a don’t-miss.

– Also on Wednesday, Area 51 Taphouse at the north side Onion Bar & Grill hosts the River City crew from 5 to 7 p.m. as part of its biweekly Meet Your Maker series.

– To the south, the Moscow Brewfest on Thursday includes offerings from Moscow Brewing, Paradise Creek, Trickster’s, Slate Creek, Whiskey Barrel Cider and more, plus door prizes, live music and food. It runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at the 1912 Center; admission is $15 (includes five drink samples).

And stay tuned for more info on the weekend’s upcoming events, including Micros for Mamas and the Cork, Keg & Spirits Festival.
