Limerick Contest returns!

The Spokesman-Review Limerick Contest returns for another year – it’s always an excellent opportunity for readers to create original poems celebrating life in the Inland Northwest.

This year’s theme is “Favorite Northwest Foliage,” and could include anything special about our local flora, from pine trees to blackberry brambles to plentiful potatoes to our newest home-grown commodity that goes by the first name of Mary Jane.

We’ll begin accepting entries Monday, Jan. 27, and amateur poets have until Friday, March 7 to submit in either the school-age category or open/adult category. Winners will be announced around St. Patrick’s Day.

Limericks can be submitted to  contests@spokesman.com, uploaded at spokane7.com/contests or mailed to 999 W. Riverside, Spokane WA 99201 attn: Limerick Contest.
