Two things to do on a Thursday night

Dan Webster

If you're still looking for something to do on this sunny-but-chilly Thursday night, you have a number of alternatives. Two that I can think of involve movies or books, and both take place at 7 p.m.

The movie: The Magic Lantern is holding a special screening of the documentary "From Spokane With Love." Co-sponsored by the Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane, the movie follows a group of people who — so explain the press notes — "went to Iran to try and bridge the gap of stereotypes and misinformation and bring their two peoples together." Tickets are $20 with proceeds going to PJALS.

The book: Spokane author Sarah Conover will read from her book "Muhammad: The Story of a Prophet and Reformer." The free event will take place at Auntie's Bookstore.
