When I play golf, I channel George Carlin

Dan Webster

What with all the great weather we've been having lately, I've had more chances to play golf. Indian Canyon, Meadowood, Hangman Valley and most recently the Coeur d'Alene Golf Club. I'm strictly a hacker, one who flirts with double bogeys — not to mention words that would make George Carlin blush — every time he addresses the ball.

But I enjoy the game. Mostly. And, of late, I have particularly enjoyed the 19th hole. The above photo is — despite the brand name on the side of the pitcher — of an Alaskan Free Ride APA, which I sipped into nonexistence at Hangman's restaurant. It went down so well that I had two.

Hey, after the way I played, it was the highlight of the afternoon.
