Good bean is a good way to start a chilly Saturday

Dan Webster

The sun is shining on this Saturday morning, which is good because the temperature was in single digits earlier on. And the only cure for that, aside from staying in bed or finding somewhere warm to have breakfast, is to stop at one of Spokane's many drive-by coffee spots.

And as you can see from the photo above, I stopped by Tailor's Bean Shack — "It's the Better Bean" — which sits at 1602 N. Ash St. The co-owner, Jeromy — and yes, he says, people tend to misspell his name — told me he and his wife bought the business three months ago. And, he added, he has no trouble staying wam while serving coffee, no matter how cold it gets outside.

Meanwhile, I stayed warm in my car. With a steaming americano (Waverly's brew) at my side. Good start to a Saturday.
