We're still at the beginning of Restaurant Week, which began Friday and runs through Saturday. Taking advantage of the opportunity, last night my wife and I took our friend Mike out to dinner at Central Food, already eaten at the new eatery twice, both times for breakfast. This was our first time for dinner.
My wife took advantage, which meant that for $28 (her wine was extra) she got a plate of Thai beef carpaccio (tasty raw beef with marinade on arugula), Idaho sturgeon with braised fennel and tomato-saffron consomme and, for dessert, curry chocolate cake with pumpkin ice cream. Mike ordered a chicken bibb-lettuce salad and an entree of mushroom risotto. I, on the other hand, had eaten earlier and so opted for only a couple of appetizers — a kale salad and roasted brussells sprouts.
It was all good (especially my kale salad, which will bring me back). You have through Saturday to enjoy Retaurant Week at 50-some restaurants. My advice would be to include Central Food on your menu.
