Budget time for movie-loving seniors at AMC

Dan Webster

Most of us are on a budget these days, and that's likely especially true for seniors. Which is why the announcement I saw in the window at the AMC Theatres in River Park Square caught my eye: "Senior Day."

Turns out that applies to Tuesdays when, all day long, movie tickets for those age 60 and over, cost as follows: general admission $6.50, IMAX $11, Real D 3D $10 and IMAX 3D $12.

It's a pretty good deal, about as good as you're apt to find at a mainstream theater chain these days. Even if do you have to put up with the preciousness of, as AMC's web site says, being called "60 years young."

Seriously? Thanks for the deal, but gag me with a walker, pal.
