Movies, dining and things to do / Spokane and North Idaho

My favorite bakery sits just a few miles north

I played host this weekend to a couple of buddies from graduate school (go Ducks!), and part of my duties involved driving them around to get a feel for Spokane. On Sunday afternoon, I drove one of them north, where we had lunch at Petit Chat Village Bakery.

The place is, as I have written before, iredeemably bad for you. And I mean that in a totally good way. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant (plus three plain croissants to go). My buddy Dave ordered a turkey melt made with cranberry bread, half of which is pictured above (the other half was in the process of being devoured).

I would have bought more. But it would have gone against my doctor's orders.

But I will go back. What my doctor doesn't know …
