Warning: Texting may be coming to your movie house

Dan Webster

In recent years, I've come to appreciate the notices that theaters run that essentially tell people to shut the hell up. No texting, no talking has been the message of the decade. And as one who has nearly gotten into fistfights with people who insist on answering their phone during movies, I'm a big fan.

Which is why my wife thought I would be interested in the story she found in Time magazine. It has to do with a Bellevue, Wash., theater that - when it opens in 2014 - will not only NOT prohibit texting during movies but will actually encourage it.

Take it as a warning of trends maybe to come.
